Mercedes CLS55 AMG W219, Autumn Exhaust Run
Shot some videos last autumn, this is one of them. The autumn leafs work great on video 🙂 Enjoy!
Replaced all 4 exhaust rubbers with OE AMG exhaust rubbers. Each AMG logo adds approximately 1 HP, which is good value for money 😛
I bought a special tool to make this easier, and I can highly recommend it! Made replacing them way easier and faster without the need for cutting them up or using flathead screwdrivers etc.

Bought a stainless catback system from an unknown Swedish exhaust builder named Rakaror.
Ordered the 3″ inch system as it pairs flawlessly with the 3″ BSR Tuning downpipe.

Bought myself a stainless catback exhaust for my Mini Cooper S R53 Works, as I found the original John Cooper Works catback a little timid for my liking. The JCW catback sounds good, but I know the Mini can sound better 🙂
I took a gamble with the Gravity Performance, a shop which I found on eBay. I noticed the real carbon tips, which looked awesome on pictures and should tie in good with the black/carbon theme I already have.
I’m glad I chose the Gravity Performance exhaust, quality welds, good clamps and awesome carbon tips. Check my video review on Youtube, which also has a small comparison with the JCW catback > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJC8XYb1rPw
For now, enjoy the pictures!
When fitting the 3″ BSR downpipe, I needed a new exhaust. As a temporary solution, I bought a standard exhaust kit (resonator and backbox) and modified the midpipe (cut the resonator out). It sounds quite nice for a default exhaust, but cannot beat a stainless exhaust 🙂
To upgrade the performance on any turbo powered car, you need “breating” upgrades. The car needs to inhale better (intake modifications), but also exhale better (exhaust modifications).
The most important component in the exhale process is the downpipe, the first pipe after the turbo. Upgrading this to a larger diameter, will allow for quicker turbo spool, which helps in scavenging but also in building boost.
As a pleasant side effect, the exhaust note will also be more throaty! The S80 has very limited options on paper, but I was able to buy and fit this with help from J&D Auto Onderdelen, who helped me tremendously in the pre-sales process (making sure that everything would fit). I can highly recommend them!
It’s a quite expensive upgrade, but well worth it.
It’s highly recommended to get some new nuts for securing the downpipe.
Old vs new, look into the differences in the diameter of the neck.
Bought a Inoxcar Stainless backbox today, in very good condition & sounds the part. Gives the Aygo a good presence without being too loud.
Looks very good, needed some longer exhaust mount rubbers which I had lying around. Else the exhaust would hit the rear bumper (or need for a small cutout)

And the end result!
