Mercedes CLS55 AMG W219, Vinyl Steering Wheel Cover

I love a thicker steering wheel and a simple way to do it is with a steering wheel cover. I have done this mod a number of times on previous cars with great succes, and this one worked out great as well. Very happy with the result, as it gives way more grip.

On pictures it looks like a big color difference, but in reality its not that bad. I have chosen a black inlay and black yarn, as a color would look out of place.

Mercedes CLS55 AMG W219, Damina Performance DM04 19 Inch Black Wheels

Was able to score another set of wheels just across the border (in Germany). The design from the Damina Performance DM04 wheels looked like something that I thought would look great on the CLS.

But after fitting them it left me with an underwhelming feeling. Sometimes, things can look good on paper, but in reality it doesn’t work out. For me, it was with these wheels. They look absolutely great, but I dont like the way they look on the CLS.

So they are up for sale again: https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1864897698

Whenever I buy new wheels, I make these selfies (sort of a tradition) 😀

Mercedes CLS55 AMG W219, Replacing Old Worn Center Caps

The wheelcaps had seen better days and have been replaced with fresh ones. These are the small mods/repairs which actually make a bigger difference than one might expect.

DeWalt DCF899 impact wrench VS stubborn Volvo S80 Crank Pulley Nut VS Parkside PASSK 20-Li A1

I have been trying to get the crank pulley nut of the vibration damper of my P2 Volvo S80, but have been unsuccessful so far. I tried multiple times with heat, breaker bars, my Parkside PASSK 20-Li A1 impact wrench etc etc.

Decided to invest in a premium brand impact wrench and it has surpassed my expectations! Check my video

Mini Cooper S R53 JCW – Sitting in the driveway

Snapped a picture of the Mini sitting in the driveway. I love this car 🙂

Mini Cooper S R53 JCW – Starting a new Project

Last year, we were all affected by the pandemic. But even in such strange times, positive things happen. Like me buying a Mini Cooper S, which I wanted to drive for quite some time. I noticed one in the trim that I wanted and went ahead with it.

Looked even better than on the pictures in the advert & was fitted with extra’s like:

  • Carbon GP bumper inserts
  • Carbon handle
  • Carbon JCW hood scoop
  • Carbon Mini R56 spoiler
  • Chrono pack interior
  • LED Angel Eyes
  • LED amber indicators
  • Dechromed exterior trim
  • MSD Coilpack & HT leads
  • 17″ R113 Black / Chrome wheels

A lot of work already has been done, this will be documented as well. Stay tuned 🙂

Thanks to my buddy Joost Evers of Hobbygarage Evers for helping me out!

Volvo S80 2.4T Black Interior Trim

Found a second hand black trim set for the interior, which will replace the “old man” wooden look trimpieces. I started with the upper 2 pieces and will be replacing all bits somewhere this weekend.

It looks way better and more modern.

Took a snapshot whilst we went out for a walk with our dogs. I still like the look of this car very much 🙂

Volvo S80 2.4T Team Heko Window Spoilers

Added Window Spoilers to the Volvo S80, I like the look but also they lower the wind noise when driving with open windows.

Also if it rains, you are still able to drive around with open windows, without any water ingress. And in the hot summers, you can safely let your windows down a little to stop the heat from building up in the car.

Mini Cooper S R53 JCW Heatwrapped Stainless Exhaust

I heatwrapped the new stainless steel Gravity Performance catback exhaust. Unfortunately I ran out of titanium heatwrap, so I ordered some more (black) and finished the job.

It will help with scavenging and is a supporting mod for extracting more horsepower and torque from the Mini.
