Seat Leon 1M 1.8T 20VT 240BHP 380Nm – Seat Online Brabomeeting 26-05-2019

Made some flyby shots of Sander’s Seat Leon 1M 1.8T 20VT with Stage 1 tune (240BHP 380Nm). The car is stripped and equipped with some good supporting mods like a 3″ stainless downpipe + stainless catback and lightweight OZ Ultraleggeras with Nankang NS2R Semi Slicks.

Volvo S80 Uprated Exhaust Manifold 30637921

Scored a uprated exhaust manifold, which is stock on newer turbo models. It has better runners and collector.

It should give some extra performance and also has a lower thermal load, which should reduce the strain on the turbo and exhaust.

Volvo S80 2.4T DO88.se Turbo Intake pipe

Replaced the air filter and the turbo intake pipe.

The intake pipe was upgraded to a blue Do88.se / Do88 silicone intake pipe, which is a fair bit larger, but also deletes some bottlenecks from the original part (like the narrowing bend on the bottom and the “harmonica”).

Gives a little bit more power from the butt dyno and noticed more intake growl (which is a good thing) 🙂

Volvo S80 2.4T ProPerfekt CBV / Diverter / Blowoff Valve

I actually wasn’t planning to upgrade the OEM Compressor Bypass Valve (CBV), but I am glad I decided to do so with this ProPerfekt piston type Diverter Valve (DV).

The rubber rings don’t leak (so much) boost, which means the power output is better (and faster) compared to the stock CBV. The stock CBV has a rubber outer ring (diaphragm) and a plastic ring on the inside (this is the flaw in the design).

The ProPerfekt DV is a known mod with the Renault Megane RS drivers, but I haven’t seen it before on another Volvo forum. The results are clear to me, the boost buildup is quicker, which means the car is faster. I would recommend this mod to anyone who has a TD04 turbo (who is still using the stock CBV). My S80 has the TD04HL-13T turbo, but will also fit the TD04HL-16T. Please note that the CBV I had fitted is quite new, so no ruptured diaphragm or something.

When I bought the S80, it was evident that the plastic trim had seen better days. So I decided to spend some time and repaint it black. As expected, it transformed the car tremendously. I highly recommend this!

Volvo S80 2.4T, time for a change…

The Golf MK3 GTI showed some big signs of rust, which jeopardized my APK (MOT) status for this year. Simply put, I had 2 choices,

  • Invest quite some money in the Golf MK3 GTI for solving the rust issues and keep driving
  • Swap/sell it straightaway and drive something else

Wishlist

I have chosen for the latter as the title already suggests. But what is a proper replacement for the Golf MK3 GTI which also falls into budget? Needles to say, I needed a wishlist to get to some conclusion…I ended up with this:

  1. More than 4 cilinders
  2. More power than the GTI
  3. No VAG car
  4. More luxury than the GTI
  5. Bigger than the GTI
  6. Optional: automatic gearbox

Result

I ended up with a Volvo S80 from 2001 with a 5 cilinder (2.4 liters) turbocharged engine. It ticks all the boxes, except for my optional item (#6), as it has stick shift. It isn’t bad, but a automatic gearbox would complement the car even more. Let the pictures speak for itself!

ND Photo op JD Engineering website

Afgelopen zomer heb ik mijn auto laten afstellen bij JD Engineering te Lochem. Ik wilde daar een mooie herinnering aan overhouden en besloot om een film te maken van de Chip op Maat sessie (stage 2). Het resultaat mocht er wezen, ik kwam van een “schamele” +-215Pk en ging naar huis met 261Pk en 395Nm.

Gefilmd met een Nikon D5100 met Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 objectief en Rode Videomic Pro microfoon.

Seat Online Profile testshoot 13-04-2013

Speelde al langer met het idee om mensen samen met hun auto op de foto te zetten, zodat je kan zien welke auto bij welk forumlid hoort. Gisteren speelde het weer e.d. mee en waren de vroege vogels van de meeting mijn testpersonen. Ben blij met de uitkomst!

Toyosports 3″ Downpipe

Na het monteren van mn nieuwe 3″ Toyosports Decat Downpipe (katloos) moest ik uiteraard een filmpje schieten. Niet alleen is de performance toegenomen, het geluid ook (in positieve zin). Wat een verschil met de originele downpipe, die heeft een grote restrictie. Snap niet dat Seat de Leon 1.8T laat uitademen door een rietje. Problem solved & genieten geblazen!

RaidHP Night Flight Turbo Boost gauge

Nieuwe toevoeging op mn Seat Leon 1.8T Sport/Cupra, de RaidHP Night Flight serie Boost meter, die je snel en duidelijk een overzicht geeft van de aanwezige boost tijdens het rijden. Installeren ging uiteindelijk makkelijker dan verwacht, enigste irritante was om de vacuumslang naar de cockpit te krijgen. Omdat ik de parafan niet los kreeg duurde het langer dan verwacht. Gelukkig heb ik niet al te grote handen en kon ik met een beetje gepiel toch genoeg kracht zetten om de slang naar binnen te wurmen. Vandaag ook mn “pod” binnengekregen, waardoor de meter netjes op het dashboard kan worden bevestigd. Zie onderstaand filmpje ook voor een demonstratie van het geheel (was toen nog niet netjes gemonteerd).
